This shimmering sterling silver band features eight glittering grey rosecut diamonds set into the band, each adorned with a radiating starburst motif. This ring pays homage to traditional Native American silver jewelry, but it is at once recognizable as an MQuan piece for its signature celestial motif, which recurs throughout the artist's work, from her jewelry to her ceramic bells, vases and dishes. This ring measures approximately 1/8" wide.
MQuan is a line of ceramics and fine jewelry, designed by Michele Quan in Brooklyn, New York. Her beautiful, organic designs are inspired by natural phenomena, celestial imagery and Eastern spiritual symbols. Her work is a visual exploration of our experience of the natural world, and an attempt to translate our innate sense of wonder into tangible objects. Her ceramic art objects are either wheel thrown, hand built or slip cast, and each piece is glazed and painted by hand. The jewelry in MQuan's line is made from sterling silver and 18 karat gold and set with precious gemstones, and features motifs that complement her ceramic designs.
